The Scream

Above: The Scream (1893) by Edvard Munch

The Scream

Smiling with kindness and happiness on the outside
But inside is screaming
But inside is screaming

Smiling with kindness and happiness on the outside
But inside is screaming
But inside is screaming

The scream,
Because he wanted to say something
Completely different
To what was formed in text
Upon the screen.

The text, all has Seen
For in space, who can hear you scream
In a non-atmospheric place
Where sound cannot travel
So large, yet confined
Where we can dream.

So, I’ll say what he wanted to say,
“It is all a lie, don’t give in
Stand up for humanity,
For we must save us from this sinister invasion
That has pushed up against us and nature
Depleting our earth, our home.
Enough is enough, stand up against it
Please my fellow humans.”

Though we are the same,
There is so much we would like to say
But we can’t. sometimes its on the tip of our tongues
But the sweet taste, so, seemingly what we want.
Removes the need, and as it is taught,
We have so much to be thankful for?

That’s the price of kindness
That’s the price of normality
The scream is hidden within
Who wants a victim mentality?
Instead, to look as though everything is alright.

But every so often the phone rang,
“Hello, is that Mr. Munch?”

The scream within
But to be, “MK OK”
With the outer form of perfection.

Smiling with kindness and happiness on the outside
But inside is screaming
But inside is screaming

Smiling with kindness and happiness on the outside
But inside is screaming
But inside is screaming
